The hike is all about pacing yourselves to reach your destination when following this adventurous route. Enduring lots of stone step stairs from Ngong Ping to Tsam Chai Au, some trails along the way are rugged and requires to clamber up and down to reach South Heavens Gate, specially the descend at Phoenix pecking valley so bring along a pair of gloves and trekking pole.

Interesting rock formation to note while traversing are the Blade rock, Carton Mouse rock and Skylight rock.

Safety first!!! Always practice caution while on trail and use ribbon markers as guide when the trail are not quite visible.

Time: 4hours (including rest and picture taking)

Supply: Ngong Ping Village opens at 9am. Can buy drinks and snacks for the hike. Bring a pair of gloves.

How to get there:

From Mui Wo : Take the ferry to Mui Wo from Central (Pier 6) Take bus no. 2 and drop off at last bus stop, Ngong Ping.

From Tung Chung: Tung Chung Station walk towards Lantau bus station, take bus no.23. Drop off at the last stop, Ngong Ping
