Tate's Cairn 577M

Tate's Cairn 577M
There are many ways to head up Tate’s Cairn, walking along the road or hiking up through the trails. We decided to take both road and trail to reach our destination.
Distance - 12.57 km
Duration - 5 hours (includes rest and pictures)
Difficulty - 3/5 Intermediate
Starting from Shatin Wai MTR station, we made our way to Shui Cheun O estate walking along the pavement until we’ve reached the trail taking us up Kwun Yum Shan along Ma On Shan Country park with some of the well-known mountains in HK can be seen along the trail.
Pat Sing Leng, Tai Mo Shan, Ma On Shan to name a few.
The trails are quite easy to follow and clearly marked with ribbons, and occasional climbs but nothing technical.
We continue to follow MacLehose trail section 5 all the way up to Tate’s pass walking along the roadside then continue to head up towards Tate’s Cairn, and to end our adventure, we backtrack towards the Kowloon Peak viewing point and descended down to Fu Shing Street via Jat’s Incline.
