Shui Hau to Ngong Ping via Tiger Roar Rock River

Tiger Roar Rock River is located on Middle Kau Nga Hang, featuring a challenging route through the jungle with clambering on rocks and gravel. The terrain is steep and slippery, making it unsuitable for beginners, even when accompanied by experienced hikers.
Distance - 7.5
Duration - 4 hours
Difficulty - 5/5 Advance
Upon revisiting, we noticed changes along the rock river—many rocks were smaller and more prone to slipping, especially in the middle section. The lower trail travels through the forest with occasional steep climbs, where ribbon markers help guide the way.
The upper section is more difficult, with steeper and technical climbs after exiting the forest. Hikers should avoid climbing in the same path as others due to the risk of falling rocks.
At the top of Stone River, we reached the junction of East and West Dog Teeth Range, where we took a break before continuing to Hades Wall. This climb is steep and not recommended for those with vertigo. From there, we proceeded to Bird's Rock, arriving at Tsam Chai Au, the junction of Dog Teeth's Range and Lantau Peak.
The descent down stone steps toward Wisdom Path leads us to the end of this rewarding adventure at Ngong Ping Village. We recommend bringing at least 2 liters of water, snacks, appropriate hiking attire, and gloves for climbing.
